Sustainable Fashion Workshop for Teenagers

Duration: 4 hours per day for 3 days

The sustainable fashion workshop covers the concept of sustainable fashion, including its environmental and social impacts, sustainable materials and production methods, and sustainable fashion brands. It also includes activities and discussions on sustainable fashion techniques, such as upcycling and repurposing, and the future of sustainable fashion, including innovative materials and production methods. The workshop aims to teach participants about sustainable fashion and provide them with the skills and knowledge to incorporate sustainable fashion practices into their daily lives.

 

Day 1: Introduction to Sustainable Fashion

  • Introduction to the workshop and the concept of sustainable fashion
  • Discussion on the environmental and social impacts of fast fashion
  • Team activity: Participants will be divided into teams and given a scenario where they need to come up with a sustainable fashion collection for a specific occasion (e.g. a party, a music festival, a wedding)
  • Introduction to sustainable materials and production methods
  • Discussion on the importance of repairing and mending clothing
  • Individual activity: Participants will choose a piece of clothing from their wardrobe and learn how to repair and mend it
  • Introduction to sustainable fashion brands and how to shop sustainably

Day 2: Sustainable Fashion Techniques

  • Introduction to sustainable fashion techniques, such as upcycling and repurposing
  • Demonstration of different sustainable fashion techniques, such as creating a bag from an old t-shirt or using recycled materials to make jewelry

Duration: 6 hours per day for 2 days

This sustainable fashion workshop for fashion designers is designed to provide designers with the knowledge and skills to incorporate sustainability into their design and making processes. Through a combination of lectures, discussions, and hands-on activities, participants will learn about the environmental and social impacts of fast fashion, sustainable materials and production methods, and how to design for longevity and sustainability. By the end of the workshop, participants will have a better understanding of sustainable fashion and how they can contribute to a more sustainable and ethical fashion industry.
